A good half-day afternoon activity. The moderate two-hour hike along the western edge of Lake Natron leads to a series of narrow gorges and waterfalls of the Ngare Sero River, where you actually can swim in slot canyons! You will be accompanied by a Maasai guide from the local cultural centre. Quite a refreshing activity after a hot day on Lake Natron as the area is both arid and wet at the same time, and lush with wild palms growing above the gorge. Wear shoes with good grip which can get wet, swimwear under a light long-sleeved shirt, bring drinking water and a snack and wrap your camera and phone water-proof.
