Flamingo Lake Walk

The pink spectacle of Lake Natron

Lake Natron in the Rift Valley is a beautiful location where the endangered dwarf flamingo loves to come to breed and breed. While these long-legged waterfowl thrive here, most other living things experience
Lake Natron
as a veritable hell on earth.

The alkaline waters of the lake are not attractive to small birds, but the lakeshore areas provide a diverse landscape for birds that thrive in the alkaline oasis.

The ideal time to observe birds at Lake Natron is during the flamingo breeding season, which usually begins at the end of the dry season in September and October. Hatching begins in the early stages of the wet season and peaks in December.
