A full-day cultural hike at the foot of the
Kilimanjaro
, offers breathtaking scenery with numerous waterfalls, including the beautiful Kinukamori, Kilasya, Moongo, Marangu and Mteshani waterfalls. You can also learn more about Chaga culture by visiting a traditional Chaga house. Here you can participate in the processing of coffee and, of course, have a cup.
You can walk through the Chief Mangi area where the northern region’s first court and elementary school are still functioning. At Kilema Roman Catholic Mission, you can see the first coffee tree planted by an Irish missionary in Tanzania 100 years ago. The Kilimanjaro region is now one of the largest coffee producers in the country.
A gentle climb up Ngangu Hill with its fantastic views is a delight. On clear days, the snow on Kibo Peak seems close, the plains vast and the Pare Mountains, located in northeast Tanzania, can be seen.
