Swim in the slot canyons
A good afternoon activity is the moderate hike along the western edge of Lake Natron which leads to a series of narrow gorges and waterfalls of the Ngare Sero River. Here you can swim in the slot canyons! You will be accompanied by a Maasai guide from the local cultural center.
A refreshing activity after a hot day at Lake Natron, as the area is simultaneously dry and wet and lush with wild palms growing above the gorge. Wear shoes with good grip that may get wet, swimwear under a light long-sleeved shirt, bring drinking water and a snack, and pack your camera and phone waterproof.
