The longer you stay in Tanzania, the more you can see of the various national parks and wildlife. You can then extend your vacation with a few days of Zanzibar. This can of course be as long as you like, but often we see guests staying on Zanzibar for about 3 to 8 days.

Every evening, as the sun colors the sky in shades of orange and pink, you can enjoy a delicious cocktail or mocktail to end the day on a high note.
Day 6 | Stone Town, the capital of Zanzibar
One last breakfast on the east coast of Zanzibar before departing for Stone Town. The Capital of Zanzibar, which is known for its labyrinthine streets and it is part of UNESCO World Heritage Site. After checking in at Shaba Boutique Hotel, you can start wandering through narrow alleys, past intricately carved wooden doors and lively markets. The smell of exotic spices fills the air as you visit the bustling Darajani Market, where you can sample local fruits, street food and spices. Visit historical sites, such as the House of Wonders, the Old Fort and the Sultan's Palace Museum, and delve into Zanzibar's rich history. When the sun sets, you can choose to dine at a rooftop restaurant and enjoy panoramic views of the city, but a visit to the Night Market in Forodhani Gardens is also an absolute must. Satisfied and satisfied, you'll return to the hotel so you can get a good night's sleep before going on safari tomorrow.
Day 7 | Fly directly to Serengeti NP
You will wake up early in the morning and after a quick breakfast you will leave for the airport. It's time to dive into the wilderness! As soon as you board the plane, you can't help but be enchanted by the view of Zanzibar's coastline. After a smooth flight, you'll land on the Seronera Airstrip in the heart of the Serengeti National Park. The savannah stretches out before you, dotted with acacia trees and teeming with wildlife. Your private driver/guide is already waiting for you and he will be your companion for the next few safari days. Together you will embark on an exciting game drive, encountering the iconic inhabitants of the Serengeti, including lions, elephants, zebras and giraffes. As the sun sets over the Serengeti, casting a golden glow over the landscape, you'll head to Africa Safari Serengeti Ikoma, where you'll spend the night. The evening is a time for relaxation as you enjoy delicious cuisine and a cozy campfire.
Day 8 | Full day game drive in Serengeti NP
As soon as you wake up to the first rays of sunshine warming your tent, you will be greeted by delightful birdsong and wildlife passing by. Take a seat on your veranda and start the day in peace. After a good breakfast, get back into the safari jeep with your driver and embark on another game drive in Serengeti NP. As you traverse the savannah, you soon come face to face with Serengeti's famous inhabitants. Towering giraffes graze elegantly by the acacia trees, while herds of zebras and wildebeest move together in harmony, and where a pride of lions lounge in the grass. Around noon, stop for a picnic lunch in a scenic spot, perhaps near a hippo-filled watering hole or in the shade of an ancient baobab tree. In the afternoon, the adventure continues. You might encounter a cheetah, its sleek body ready for speed, or a family of elephants crossing your path at leisure. After an impressive day in Serengeti NP, you return to Africa Safari Serengeti Ikoma.
Day 9 | From Central to North Serengeti NP
Today you traverse Serengeti NP to the north. Taking a game drive from central to northern Serengeti is a fascinating journey through the ever-changing landscapes of this famous nature reserve. As you leave behind the grassy plains and iconic headlands of central Serengeti, the landscape gradually changes to a mosaic of rolling hills and riverine forests. Along the way you will encounter a variety of wildlife, including elephants, giraffes and buffalo, all set against the backdrop of the picturesque Serengeti terrain. The anticipation increases as you get closer to the Mara River, a famous crossroads for the Great Migration, where countless wildebeest and zebra brave the crocodile-infested waters (in the right season) in a spectacle that defines the African wilderness. But even outside this season, this region is a must-see for safari enthusiasts. It is the hidden gem of Serengeti NP. After a beautiful day of driving through Serengeti NP, you will arrive at Africa Safari Maasai Boma. A beautiful accommodation with bungalows built in the traditional way, with the inside comforts you desire on vacation.
Day 10 | Full day game drive in Pololeti Game Reserve
The sun rises early behind the mountains of Kenya and colors the landscape a beautiful golden yellow. From the restaurant you have a beautiful view of this and start your day off right together with a delicious cup of coffee or tea. Today a full day game drive in Pololeti Game Reserve is scheduled. The hidden gem of Northern Tanzania with beautiful nature and many wild animals that can be well spotted. This beautiful nature reserve is often skipped, which is a missed opportunity. Chances are you won't encounter anyone else today, except for a lot of wildlife of course.
Day 11 | Traverse Serengeti NP from north to south
Today the alarm clock rings early as you have a full day in Serengeti National Park ahead of you. Embark on an epic adventure as you traverse the vast plains of Serengeti National Park, from its awe-inspiring northern expanse to its southern reaches. During this game drive, you'll have a front row seat to the Great Migration, one of nature's most amazing spectacles. Millions of wildebeest and zebra begin their annual trek in search of greener pastures. Along the way, you will witness exciting wildlife encounters, including predators chasing their prey. It is a safari experience that promises awe-inspiring moments at every turn. At the end of the day, you will reach Africa Safari South Serengeti, an accommodation located in the middle of the wildlife habitat.
Day 12 | The magic of the Ngorongoro Crater
Finally; a game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater! It's a game drive into a geological wonder and natural paradise like no other. As you descend into the world's largest intact volcanic caldera, you are immediately surrounded by breathtaking scenery. The crater's high walls house a rich mosaic of ecosystems, creating a natural amphitheater that attracts an abundance of wildlife. As you explore the bottom of the crater, you will encounter the "Big Five" - lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards and rhinos - along with countless other species, all living harmoniously in this remarkable crater. A day full of spectacular encounters and views. Once you leave the crater and make your way to Africa Safari Karatu, you know that the safari adventure is almost at an end. Fortunately, you still have a beautiful evening at Africa Safari Karatu, which sits atop a hill with 180-degree views of the valley. Have dinner at the restaurant and realize all the unique safari moments you've already experienced over the past 12 days. Delightful thoughts to dream away and enjoy your well-deserved night's rest.
Day 13 | Road trip to Lake Natron
A road trip from Karatu to Lake Natron is a journey through the diverse and enchanting landscapes of Tanzania. Leaving the lush and green surroundings of Karatu, the road takes you through the dramatic transitions of the Rift Valley. The journey provides picturesque vistas of rolling hills and quaint villages, giving you a glimpse into the local culture. As you approach Lake Natron, the landscape becomes increasingly arid and volcanic, with the imposing Ol Doinyo Lengai volcano on the horizon. The road trip promises not only breathtaking views, but also the chance to explore the surreal beauty of Lake Natron, known for its flamingo populations and unique geological formations. Once checked in and installed, you can go enjoy a delicious drink at the bar with restaurant that offers views of Lake Natron and the Ol Doinyo Lengai volcano.
Day 14 | Flamingo Lake Walk
It's time to take a closer look at Lake Natron. Together with an experienced guide, you will hike to the shimmering shores of the lake, where you are immediately greeted by the surreal sight of thousands of pink flamingos gracefully wading in the salty water (in the right season). The birds' vibrant hues create a stunning contrast against Lake Natron's stark, mineral-rich backdrop. Walking along the shoreline, you have the opportunity to observe these elegant creatures up close. After this enchanting flamingo walk, a relaxing afternoon awaits you. You will unwind by the pool and enjoy the panoramic view of Lake Natron and the active volcano. The warm African sun casts a soft glow as you enjoy a refreshing drink. After a delicious dinner, it's time to go back to sleep and walk at your leisure to your tent under an immense starry sky.

Serengeti National Park
From vast plains to rocky ‘kopjes’
With vast open plains stretching to the horizon and an abundance of wildlife, Serengeti National Park crowns itself a true paradise for any safari enthusiast. Hence, we recommend that you set aside several days for this.
Serengeti National Park covers an impressive area of nearly 15,000 square kilometers and is rightly the largest and perhaps most popular national park in Tanzania’s northern circuit and perhaps in all of Africa.
The Serengeti is known worldwide as host to the Great Migration and many big cats such as lions, cheetahs and cheetahs. However, elephants, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, buffalo and impala are also common residents here. This area is extremely popular because of the high probability of witnessing a hunting party of these predators. The landscape in northern Serengeti NP is characterized by “kopjes,” rocky granite formations that are more than 550 million years old and often serve as lookouts for these feline hunters during their search for prey.
Wildlife you can spot:
Wildebeests | Zebras | Thomson’s gazelles | Lions | Cheetahs | Cheetahs | Cheetahs | Cheetahs | Elephants | Giraffes | Hippos | Crocodiles | Buffalo | Impalas | Hyenas | Rhinos | Warthogs | Waterbucks | Vultures | Baboons | Mongoose | Aardvarks | Serval Cats | Meerkats
The Great Trek of the Serengeti National Park
This is a natural spectacle that many people like to see during their safari trip in Tanzania. One of the highlights in Serengeti NP, but also one of the most difficult to spot. Seasonally, we know approximately where the Great Migration is located, but never exactly. This is due to many natural factors, which makes seeing the Great Migration very unique. Our drivers/guides always do their best to locate the Great Migration.
