The flight between Zanzibar and Arusha takes about 1.5 hours.
The ideal balance between Tanzania and Zanzibar depends entirely on your personal preferences. The average length of travel in northern Tanzania is between 5 and 10 days. The longer you stay in Tanzania, the more you can see of the various national parks and wildlife. You can then extend your vacation with a few days of Zanzibar. This can of course be as long as you like, but often we see guests staying on Zanzibar for about 3 to 8 days.
Yes, domestic flights and cab rides to the airport are fully taken care of by us and are included in our prices as standard.
You go on a private trip, alone or with your travel company. So you will not travel in a group. Our experienced and knowledgeable driver, who is also your guide, will proudly show you Tanzania.

Day 1 | Stone Town, the beating heart of Zanzibar
Upon arrival of your international flight at Zanzibar Airport, our cab driver will already be waiting for you and he will take you to Shaba Boutique Hotel. This is where you will spend your first night, recovering from your trip. Shaba Boutique Hotel is located in a beautiful and characteristic building in the heart of the old town of Stone Town with many restaurants nearby for lunch and dinner.
Day 2 | Your first game drive in Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, the cab driver will pick you up at the hotel and you will drive together to Zanzibar Airport. With a domestic flight you will fly to Arusha Airport. The flight is easy and takes just over an hour. Arusha is the safari capital of Tanzania and a bustling, tourism-driven city. You will be met at Arusha Airport by your private driver-guide and together you will begin the transfer to Tarangire National Park to begin your first game drive. The park's name is derived from the Tarangire River, which crosses the park and is the main source of fresh water for wildlife. This tranquil park is known for its elephant migration, bird life and authentic safari atmosphere. In the afternoon you will enjoy a picnic lunch and in the late afternoon you will depart for Africa Safari Lake Manyara. Upon arrival you will have time to freshen up before ending the day with dinner under the stars and a good night's sleep in one of our comfortable canvas tents.
Day 3 | Lake Manyara National Park
After a good night's sleep, today is the "day of tree-climbing lions. An early breakfast before checking out before heading to Lake Manyara National Park. The park is about 330 km², most of which consists of the lake. A sea of pink flamingos as far as the eye can see. But Lake Manyara also displays a wonderful variety of herd animals and birds. One of the very special aspects of this park are the tree-climbing lions. After you have explored this nature park, leave for Africa Safari Lake Manyara.
Day 4 | The magic of the Ngorongoro Crater
Be sure to get up early today so that you won't be delayed during your descent into the famous Ngorongoro Crater. Once you arrive in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you will be amazed by the beauty around you. Even more so when you arrive at the edge of the crater and take in the stunning views of one of the natural wonders of the world. The crater of this inactive volcano is about 3 million years old, 20 square kilometers in size and the largest continuous volcanic caldera in the world. Because of its natural boundaries, the wildlife in the crater is amazing. The crater is home to the Big Five and offers a good chance to spot the rare black rhino. Add hyenas, zebras, buffalo and elephants to the mix and you have the perfect canvas for a great safari experience. In the late afternoon, you'll head to Africa Safari Karatu, for a well-deserved night's rest.
Day 5 | Domestic flight to Zanzibar
After a delicious breakfast and checking out of Africa Safari Karatu, you will begin the drive back to Arusha for your domestic flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival, you will again be met by our driver and transferred to your resort of choice. Time to reflect on all the impressions and experiences you have had over the past few days.
Day 6 & 7 | Relax days on tropical Zanzibar
You can spend these days at leisure and enjoy all the resort's wonderful facilities: spa, massage, sunbathing by the pool or a dip in the ocean. Are you more adventurous? Then go diving or snorkeling in the colorful underwater world or plan one of the many day trips to get to know Zanzibar well.
Not done spotting wildlife yet? Then a visit to the Jozani Forest is a must. Here you will encounter the rare and endemic red colobus monkeys as you walk along wooden paths through the lush greenery. But you can also immerse yourself in the island's culture by visiting a local seaweed farm. Learn about traditional working methods and the role seaweed plays in the local economy. It's a cultural exchange that will give you more insight into the island's way of life.

Africa Safari Rift Valley
Gets its name from the famous Rift Valley
Africa Safari Rift Valley is located in the village of Mayoka, on the south side of Lake Manyara with the famous Great Rift Valley as its setting. It is the perfect location to relax before or after visiting Tanzania’s northern national parks, conveniently located between Tarangire and Lake Manyara. Africa Safari Rift Valley is off the beaten path. The pool and restaurant is embedded in the surrounding landscape and offers stunning views of the Rift Valley and Lake Manyara. The southern entrance to Lake Manyara National Park, Iyambi Gate, is a short distance away. This national park has a variety of wildlife, including the famous tree-climbing lions.
Lake Manyara National Park is a haven for hippos, giraffes, impalas and zebras. The west end of Tarangire National Park, Sangaiwe Gate, is less than an hour’s drive away. Tarangire National Park is known for its large number of picturesque baobab trees and is home to the largest population of elephants in northern Tanzania. Tanzania is the third-largest sugar producer in East Africa. Just a 30-minute drive from Africa Safari Rift Valley you will find the Manyara Sugar Factory, one of the factories that contribute to the production of sugar.

Stone Town is the capital of Zanzibar and is also called Zanzibar Town. This town is very lively and should definitely not be missed if you spend a few days on Zanzibar. Stroll through the small narrow alleys of the historic town. Many colorful stores invite you to buy souvenirs or spices. Walking past one of the many palace ruins and Persian baths, it is impossible not to be captivated by the Arab influence and romance of the island. This town has many fine restaurants and your visit to Stone Town is complete if you have experienced the night market on Forodhani. In the dry season, the Tarangire River is the only permanent source of water for all wildlife and thus the place to easily spot wildlife. Tarangire National Park is 2850 square kilometers, making it the sixth largest park in Tanzania. After

it offers the highest concentration of wildlife. Tarangire is known for its Baobab trees. Their impressive, thick trunks store water and provide a source of food and shade for many animal species. Lake Manyara National Park is an underrated gem when it comes to safari parks in Tanzania. This park offers great ecological diversity in a compact area. The lake attracts many birds that thrive on the water. More than 400 species have been identified and one of the highlights are the thousands of flamingos.
From the park’s main entrance, the road winds through an area of pristine forest. On the grassy shores of the lake you can see wildebeest, giraffes, zebras and the great buffalo grazing throughout the day. The park also offers excellent opportunities to spot hippos. The mahogany and acacia trees are inhabited by the famous tree-climbing lions. With a little luck, you can see them lazing on a tree branch!

Domestic flight
This package includes a domestic flight. This is a fast, convenient and safe way to travel across the vast and diverse landscapes of the country. We work with several local airlines and even fly several routes with our own plane. You are allowed +/- 15 kg of luggage per person in a soft suitcase or (weekend) bag during the domestic flight, plus hand luggage.


Safari Jeep
During this safari tour, you will travel around in a 4×4 safari jeep with pop-up roof. This, with four-wheel drive, safari jeep is perfect for taking photos. The vehicles have low emissions, so make less noise. This allows you to get quite close to the wild animals without disturbing or scaring them off.
The safari jeeps are well maintained and have comfortable seats and a cooler for cold water. Our English-speaking driver/guide has extensive knowledge of flora and fauna. He makes sure you get to see the best of the national parks. He will give you as much time as you need to ask questions, take pictures and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
All transfers during the safari days and on Zanzibar to and from the airport are included in this tour.
