A Serengeti game drive is an unforgettable journey into the heart of Africa.
Day 3 | From Central to Northern Serengeti
The sun's rays will wake you up early and with a little luck you will just see a pair of giraffes walking gracefully past your tent as soon as you open the zipper. After breakfast you will depart for the north of Serengeti National Park. This journey into the vastness of Serengeti National Park is a captivating experience that reveals the park's remarkable diversity. You leave behind the scenic acacia-strewn plains and iconic headlands of the central Serengeti and head north into a landscape characterized by lush riverine forests and rolling hills. The northern Serengeti is known for abundant river crossings during the Great Migration, where wildebeest and zebra brave crocodile-infested waters. Here the landscape turns into a haven for predators, with lions and cheetahs ready for action. At the end of the day, you will arrive at Africa Safari Maasai Boma, where you will spend the night in a traditional Boma, with the luxury inside that you appreciate on vacation.

If you don't mind getting up at sunrise already, it is well worth watching this from the pool. The sun rises from Kenya and slowly turns the entire area golden yellow. This is wonderfully soothing and a good start to a new day full of safari adventures. After all, you will be going on a game drive in Pololeti Game Reserve. This area is also known as the hidden gem of Northern Tanzania, as few people visit this area. A shame, because the nature is beautiful and rich in many wild animal species. Chances are you won't meet anyone else and the driver will tell you a lot of interesting facts about the flora and fauna of this area.
Day 5 | From North to South Serengeti National Park
Today a long but special route is planned. For you will trek from North Serengeti all the way to South Serengeti, crossing the entire national park. You can start enjoying a landscape full of stunning contrasts. If you start in the north, you will witness the drama of river crossing during the Great Migration, with countless wildebeest and zebra braving the crocodile-infested waters. The region is teeming with predators, such as lions and cheetahs, taking advantage of the abundance of prey. As you head south, the landscape changes to open savannahs and rolling plains, creating a different but equally enchanting backdrop for wildlife encounters. Here you will see how predators and prey coexist in this enchanting ecosystem. At the end of the day you will arrive at Africa Safari South Serengeti, where you can start enjoying a well-deserved night's sleep in a comfortable safari tent.
Day 6 | The magic of the Ngorongoro Crater
Be awakened by the crackling of the forests and the song of the birds. As soon as you unzip your tent you look out over the pristine nature, where giant elephants like to parade by. Spoil yourself with a delicious breakfast and a good cup of coffee before getting back into the safari jeep. Because today the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater is on the program. This ancient volcanic caldera is home to an amazing concentration of wildlife. As you descend into this natural amphitheater, the crater's diverse ecosystems come to life. Towering cliffs surround the crater floor and set the stage for encounters with the Big Five, including Africa's densest population of lions. Herds of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle graze peacefully alongside rhinos and elephants, creating a unique society of African wildlife. As the day nears its end, leave the crater and continue on to Africa Safari Karatu. This property sits atop a hill and offers great views of the entire area.
Day 7 | Road trip to Lake Natron
A road trip from Karatu to Lake Natron is a journey through the diverse and enchanting landscapes of Tanzania. Leaving the lush and green surroundings of Karatu, the road takes you through the dramatic transitions of the Rift Valley. The journey provides picturesque vistas of rolling hills and quaint villages, giving you a glimpse into the local culture. As you approach Lake Natron, the landscape becomes increasingly arid and volcanic, with the imposing Ol Doinyo Lengai volcano on the horizon. The road trip promises not only breathtaking views, but also the chance to explore the surreal beauty of Lake Natron, known for its flamingo populations and unique geological formations. Once checked in and installed, you can go enjoy a delicious drink at the bar with restaurant that offers views of Lake Natron and the Ol Doinyo Lengai volcano.
After this captivating experience and a delicious dinner at Africa Safari Serengeti Ikoma, you will go on a night game drive. Guided by floodlights, you will delve into the mysteries of the night savannah and observe elusive creatures such as lions, leopards and hyenas as they prowl and hunt for their prey. Exciting but a unique experience to complete your safari adventure.
Day 8 | Flamingo Walk
Start today at your leisure and enjoy the facilities this property has to offer. Take a refreshing dip in the pool, read a book on your veranda or enjoy the beautiful view while playing a fun game in the restaurant. Our guide will call you in time for you to join the interesting Flamingo Walk excursion. This walk along the shores of Lake Natron is a unique experience. As you walk along the shimmering, otherworldly waters of this alkaline lake, you will be surrounded by thousands of bright pink flamingos. Serengeti National Park
From vast plains to rocky ‘kopjes’
With vast open plains stretching to the horizon and an abundance of wildlife, Serengeti National Park crowns itself a true paradise for any safari enthusiast. Hence, we recommend that you set aside several days for this.
Serengeti National Park covers an impressive area of nearly 15,000 square kilometers and is rightly the largest and perhaps most popular national park in Tanzania’s northern circuit and perhaps in all of Africa.
The Serengeti is known worldwide as host to the Great Migration and many big cats such as lions, cheetahs and cheetahs. However, elephants, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, buffalo and impala are also common residents here. This area is extremely popular because of the high probability of witnessing a hunting party of these predators. The landscape in northern Serengeti NP is characterized by “kopjes,” rocky granite formations that are more than 550 million years old and often serve as lookouts for these feline hunters during their search for prey.
Wildlife you can spot:
Wildebeests | Zebras | Thomson’s gazelles | Lions | Cheetahs | Cheetahs | Cheetahs | Cheetahs | Elephants | Giraffes | Hippos | Crocodiles | Buffalo | Impalas | Hyenas | Rhinos | Warthogs | Waterbucks | Vultures | Baboons | Mongoose | Aardvarks | Serval Cats | Meerkats
The Great Trek of the Serengeti National Park
This is a natural spectacle that many people like to see during their safari trip in Tanzania. One of the highlights in Serengeti NP, but also one of the most difficult to spot. Every year, the six million wildebeest, and thousands of zebras and gazelles migrate through Serengeti National Park in search of fresh grass and water.
Seasonally, we know approximately where the Great Migration is located, but never exactly. This is due to many natural factors, which makes seeing the Great Migration very unique. Our drivers/guides always do their best to locate the Great Migration.
