About Tanzania

Location
Tanzania, the East African country located on the Indian Ocean, is best known for Mount Kilimanjaro, the Big Five and many other wildlife species, the colorful Maasai culture and the tropical paradise of Zanzibar. The country is about 22 times the size of the Netherlands and has a population of more than 66 million. The official languages spoken are Swahili and English and payment is made in Tanzanian Shillings and US Dollars.
History
Its history stretches far back in time, traces of which are still visible. From the Arabs from Oman, the Persians from Shiraz, the slave trade on Zanzibar and the spice plantations that never left the country.
Capital
Dodoma is officially the capital of Tanzania, but Arusha is considered the safari capital of the country. Many travel enthusiasts flock here daily to set off from here in a jeep on safari in the northern part of Tanzania.

Serengeti National Park
Vast savannahs with grassy fields reaching to the horizon. Wild animals quietly making their way through these iconic landscapes. Hunting lions, ravenous cheetahs, huge herds of elephants and the Great Migration of wildebeest and zebra that make Serengeti National Park the world’s most famous wildlife park.

Ngorongoro Crater
But the impressive Ngorongoro Crater should not be skipped either. A UNESCO World Heritage site that houses an amazing concentration of animals in its sunken caldera. The entire Big Five is present here, with the Black Rhino in particular.

Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park where huge baobabs and elephants define the landscape. Here, in the heart of northern Tanzania, many wildlife species gather at the Tarangire River to quench their thirst or just hunt for prey. Witness unique hunting moments where the lionesses try to catch the prey and experience the power of nature.
