Witness the Calving Season of the Great Migration from the Air

From December to March, you can add this popular balloon safari to your safari adventure. The Great Migration gathers at Lake Ndutu (South Serengeti) for the calving season. A true natural spectacle you won’t want to miss.

Float silently above the enchanting Lake Ndutu, and from the air, you’ll see thousands of wildebeest with their newborn calves traversing the plains. All this bathed in the golden morning colors of the sunrise. A magical spectacle that makes your safari a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

You will be picked up before dawn (between 4:00 AM and 6:00 AM) at Africa Safari South Serengeti and taken to the launch site. After a warm welcome and a thorough briefing, it’s time to fill the balloon with hot air. Step into the basket and make sure you are dressed appropriately. A cap can help protect against the heat from the gas burners above you. Before you know it, the basket lifts off the ground, and you slowly ascend.

Meanwhile, the sun slowly rises, casting a warm golden glow over the plains of Lake Ndutu. A serene calm hangs in the air, and you see the wild animals awakening from above. After a magnificent flight of approximately 45 to 75 minutes, you land back on the ground and receive a champagne toast with a ‘full English’ breakfast. An unforgettable experience!
