Sunset walking safari in Ikona
Follow the footsteps of wildlife
After spending several days in the safari jeep, it’s time to stretch your legs and explore the area on foot. Put on your sturdy and especially closed walking shoes and make sure your camera is well charged. Bring your binoculars so you don’t have to miss anything during this impressive walking safari.
On the north side of the Grumeti River is a buffer zone (wildlife management area) where you can drive 15 minutes from Africa Safari Serengeti Ikoma arrives. An armed ranger will be on hand to protect you while you get the chance to explore a new area and maybe even track the animals on foot! The walking safari takes about 1.5 hours. What you encounter is always a surprise. Curious warthogs or giraffes or quietly grazing wildebeest and happy gazelles. After your walk, you will be taken to the top of Robanda Hill, where you will enjoy the beautiful sunset over the Serengeti.
